SSW Affirms Decision to Withdraw Overture 85 (08-06) from General Assembly Agenda and Continues Support of Overture’s Original Purpose

The Synod of the Southwest voted unanimously on Monday, June 2, to affirm the decision of its moderator, Elder Conrad M. Rocha and synod executive and stated clerk, Rev. Dr. Janet DeVries, to withdraw Overture 85 (08-06), submitted as business to the 218th General Assembly (2008).

	New fellowship formed to meet needs of Middle Eastern Christians A new fellowship started in Presbytery de Cristo and the Synod of the Southwest now enables Middle Eastern Presbyterians and other Arab-speaking Christians in the area to worship in their own language and culture.
