“From translation to composition to interpretation, we’ll take a new look at the Book of Genesis in light of our place in today’s world.  We’ll begin with an examination of the translation of Genesis in the first new translation of the Bible in 30 years, the Common English Bible. Then we’ll reread some of the most well known stories at the beginning of Genesis-the two creation stories, the story of the Tower of Babel, and the story of Noah and the flood—to look for the way Genesis’s writers imagined our role in the world, both within nature and within the cultural diversity of the world in which we live.”
